Frequently Asked Questions
No, mother. A zombie WALK.
A zombie walk is when a bunch of people get together to dress up as zombies and go wandering around in public. It involves a lot of makeup, fake blood, and stumbling around moaning for brains.
Zombie walks can range in size from a couple zombies lurching down the sidewalk to a massive horde of the undead numbering in the thousands swarming through a stretch of the city and can be organized for just about any reason imaginable. Some are just for fun. Some are intended to contribute to some charity or even to promote other events. Exceptionally large walks are organized to break world records and gain bragging rights for the host city.
Come join us sometime. You'll have a great time!
Because it's fun. duh
Loosely speaking, Zombie Walk OKC is made up of anyone looking to bring together zombie enthusiasts in central Oklahoma. Any news of upcoming events will be passed along to as many channels as possible.
We need your help! Spread the word about zombie events. Add your photos to the galleries. Send in new info and resources for the HowTos.
This website was created by Ron Butler as a central information resource and is hosted by CrazedLemming Productions.
You can be whatever type of zombie you want to be. For help getting ready, check out the HowTo pages or the Links if no one's gotten around to finishing the HowTos yet.
The "official" zombie model for Zombie Walk OKC is the viral spread plague from Max Brooks' books, The Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z. Following that model, the zombies are mindless eating machines that continue on no matter what injuries they have until the brain is destroyed, but if you want to say that you resurrected due to radiation, voodoo, bio-terrorism, or whatever else, that's your call. As long as you look unhealthy and act weird, you'll fit right in.
Tips for looking like the undead:
- Pale corpse-like skin
- Bruises and wounds
- Lots of blood
- Stumble around with limited coordination
- Moan horribly when you spot prey
Step 1 Pick a reason, a place, and a time. Try to schedule far enough in advance to make Step 2 successful.
Step 2 Spread the word and recruit zombies.
Step 3 Hope that people show up. People are flaky and will usually back out on you when it comes to this sort of thing. As a general rule, expect to get half the number of people who say they'll be there.
Send photos to:
ZombieWalkOKC {AT} gmail {DOT} com
(replace the {AT} and {DOT} with the appropriate symbols of course)
Make sure to indicate what event the photos are from. If we don't already have a gallery for your event, one will be created.
800x600 and 100KB-200KB per file is preferred, but not necessary. Send in something and it'll find its way into the galleries somehow.
I'm very sorry that users aren't currently allowed to upload their photos directly. The system could handle it, but if there's any kind of database problem it's much easier to restore if I have all the files stored and organized locally.

You're probably using an old version of Internet Explorer. I've chosen not to support early versions of IE on this site. It's just too time consuming finding workarounds for all of their display bugs.
If you're using Internet Explorer 6 or 7, please upgrade to FireFox, Google Chrome, Apple Safari, or the latest Internet Explorer.
If you switch to a modern browser and still see something that's not right, send me a message so I can get things working.
